The Brazilian Mercantile & Futures Exchange (BM&F) promotes, from 2003, the International Derivatives and Financial Market Congress. The event is biennial. The first one took place between the 20th and 23rd of August 2003, at the Arts & Convention center, in Campos do Jordão, in São Paulo. The II Congress will occur between the 24th and 27th of August 2005.

The goal of the Congress is to provide an ongoing forum for the discussion of the principal themes related to the financial and derivatives markets, with the presence of renowned specialists from around the world. In addition to this, other important topics like the expansion and growing sophistication of the derivatives market, the exigencies of which can only be met by professionals who are continually better prepared and informed to not only deal with the complexity of the products, but to also cope with the constantly changing world economy.

Apart from derivatives, the conference will also address such issues as global trade and market regulation, thereby reaching a diversified public, which will include executives, doctors, lawyers, university professors, and national and international investors.
