SPORTING ACTIVITIES*

Tennis Tournament - No availability
Campos do Jordão Tennis Club
from 9:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m.

 

This event will include a tennis clinic conducted by Wilton Carvalho, from Wilton Tennis, with the participation of the Brazilian ATP tennis player Flávio Saretta. After the preliminary instructions participants will be classified into two categories (A and B) and all doubles pairs will be randomly selected.

The first and second place winners in both categories will receive awards, and a “stand out team” will be chosen.

Distance run and nature walk
Start and finish: Campos do Jordão Tennis Club
from 9:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m.

This event will include the participation of athletes from the BM&FBOVESPA Athletic Club. Participants will be able to get some physical exercise and find out more about Campos do Jordão. The first and second place winners in both the women’s and men’s categories will receive awards. A special award will be presented to the outstanding participant in these activities.

9:00 a.m. – Gather together for warm-up and stretching exercises
10:00 a.m. – Start
11:00 a.m. – Award presentation

Distance run: 5 km (2 laps)
Nature walk: 2.5 km (1 lap)

Kit withdrawal – On August 28 and 29, all registered participants will be able to withdraw their sport’s kits at the Conference Secretary’s Office, from 9:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m., by showing their ID.
• Tennis: T-shirt and cap.
• Distance run and nature walk: Bib number, T-shirt and cap.

  Two-time champion of the New York City Marathon (2006 and 2008) and silver and bronze medal winner at the 2007 Rio de Janeiro Pan-American Games.
  Juliana Paula Gomes dos Santos
  Gold medal winner at 2007 Rio de Janeiro Pan-American Games and bronze medal winner at the World Youth Athletics Championship in Jamaica.
  Edson Luques Bindilatti
  Six-time consecutive Brazilian champion, two-time South-American champion, Spanish-American champion and participant at two Winter Olympiads in the bobsled competition.
  Melry Neri Caldeira
  Brazilian vice-champion in 2008 and top ranked Brazilian athlete in 2009.
  Vanderlei Cordeiro
  Gold medal winner at the 2003 Santo Domingo Pan-American Games, bronze medal winner at the 2004 Athens Olympic Games and winner of the 2004 Pierre de Coubertain trophy for fair play at the Athens Olympic Games.

Tips for participation in sports activities

• A good night's sleep makes a difference when engaging in physical exercises.
• Eat a sufficient amount of carbohydrates (they are excellent sources of energy). • Bananas should always be included in one’s diet, because they are high in potassium and can help prevent cramps.
• Wear light clothes.
• Don’t forget your sunblock.
